Natural gas exploration in Quebec could create 7,500 new jobs, based upon the development of 250 gas wells. According to a study from SECOR Conseil, natural gas development would also generate $232 million in new government revenue for the province by 2015. By 2025, an additional 51,371 jobs could be supported in Quebec, and the Quebec government could see revenues increase by $1.2 billion.
More than one hundred different trades are required for natural gas exploration and production activities, which means thousands of new jobs across a variety of sectors will be created.
